What a domain costs
Each extension has its own price per year, and you can buy a domain on any plan, Free included.
- The price before you buy. The dashboard shows a name’s price per year when you search for it, and lists what each extension costs to register, renew and transfer. A premium domain costs what its registry sets.
- Paid from your credit. A registration takes the price for the whole period, 1–10 years, from your account credit. If the registration fails, we give it back.
- WHOIS privacy at no charge. WHOIS privacy hides your contact details from public lookups of who owns a domain. It starts on for each domain you register.
What comes with each domain
A domain you register here is ready for a website and email from the start.
- DNS from the start. A new domain starts on our nameservers, with a DNS zone on your account ready for records. DNS hosting
- A certificate and a web proxy. When you register, the dashboard offers to issue a free certificate and to put the domain behind Edge Proxy. Edge Proxy
- Auto-renew. Auto-renew starts on. We renew the domain for another year 14 days before it expires.
- Transfer lock. The lock stops anyone moving the domain to another registrar until you turn it off.
- Transfers in and out. Bring a domain from another registrar with its EPP code (the transfer code that registrar gives you), or move one away with the code we give you.
- Nameservers of your choice. Keep the domain on our DNS, or point it at another DNS provider’s nameservers.
How it works
- Search for a name. Type the name you want on the Websites page. The dashboard says whether it is available and what it costs a year.
- Register it. Choose how many years, from 1 to 10, and pay from your account credit.
- Point it at your site. Add records to its DNS zone, or let the dashboard set up a certificate and a web proxy for you.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a domain cost?
Each extension, such as .com, has its own price per year, and the dashboard shows it when you search for a name. A premium domain costs what its registry sets. You pay for the whole period from your account credit before we register the domain.
Is WHOIS privacy free?
WHOIS privacy costs nothing, and it starts on for each domain you register. It hides your contact details from public lookups of who owns the domain.
Can I move a domain I already own to Coritan?
Turn off the transfer lock at your current registrar and ask it for the domain’s EPP code. Then start the transfer from the Websites page. When the old registrar has released the domain, contact our support team and we make the registration active.
Do I need a plan to buy a domain?
You can register a domain on any plan, Free included. Each domain starts with a DNS zone on your account, which counts as one of your websites.
What happens when my domain is about to expire?
With auto-renew on, we renew the domain for another year 14 days before it expires, and try again the next day if that fails. With auto-renew off, we email you 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 day before it expires.
