Our staff decide each refund request. Nothing on this page is automatic.

Ask for a refund

  1. Open Billing in the dashboard, then Invoices, and open a paid invoice.
  2. Select Ask for a refund….
  3. Choose Everything paid or Part of it. For part of it, enter an amount up to what you paid on that invoice.
  4. Say why you want a refund, in at least 10 characters, and select Send request.

A paid invoice takes one open request at a time. You can withdraw a request while it waits for review.

How we decide

Staff read the request and the reason you wrote, and decide. We email you the answer. When we decline, the email says why.

Billing, then Refunds, shows each request as Waiting for review, Being refunded, Refunded, Declined or Withdrawn.

Where the money goes

An approved refund goes back to the payment you made. When that payment cannot take it, the refund goes to your account credit, which pays your next invoices.

A payment made in cryptocurrency cannot go back to its wallet. We refund it as account credit.

Moving to a smaller plan

When you move a service to a smaller plan, we credit the unused part of what you paid to your account balance, less a holdback of 1 day. A service with 1 day or less left earns no credit.

A service that bills by the hour has no unused month, so it earns no credit.

Cancelling a service

You can cancel a service now or at the end of its billing term.

Chargebacks

Ask us for a refund before you ask your bank. A payment reversed through a chargeback ends every service on the account, and we close the account. The terms of service say more.
