One address for players to join
Give players one address for your game server that keeps its own address hidden, and connect servers you host somewhere else.
A join address is a name such as survival-smp.coritan.gg that players type in their game. It carries them to your server, and they never see the server’s own address.
Prices
A join address costs nothing for a server hosted here. For a server you run somewhere else, order an External Server plan.
A server hosted here
For your Container Apps servers.
- Minecraft Java and Bedrock, and other games over TCP
- A name under coritan.gg, or your own domain
- Your entry in the game’s server list
- Protection from floods of connections
A server hosted elsewhere
For a Minecraft server at home or with another host.
- Minecraft Java and Bedrock
- A name under coritan.gg, or your own domain
- Your entry in the game’s server list
- Protection from floods of connections
What a join address gives you
Every join address comes with these.
- Minecraft Java and Bedrock. Java players type the name alone. Bedrock players add port 19132 and need version 26.50 or newer.
- Other games over TCP. For a server hosted here, a join address can carry any game that connects over TCP, on a port of its own. Games that use UDP, such as Rust and Valheim, need a floating IP instead.
- Your server out of sight. Players connect to our network, which passes them on to your server, so they never see its own address.
- Protection from floods. During a flood of connections, we ask players to join a second time, and the second attempt goes through.
- Your own domain. Let players join at a domain you own, such as play.example.com.
- Your server list entry. Set the name, message and icon players see in their game’s server list, even while your server is offline.
How it works
- Say where the server runs. Choose one of your servers hosted here, or order an External Server plan for one you run elsewhere.
- Choose the name. Choose a free name under coritan.gg, and link your own domain if you have one.
- Give players the address. Players type the name in their game, and we carry them to your server.
Add-ons
Games that connect over UDP need a floating IP, an address of the server’s own.
Guides for Game Connections
Our docs explain each step, from the name to your first players.
- How join addresses work: How players reach your server through a join address.
- Create a join address: Choose the name and the game.
- Use your own domain for a join address: Link a domain you own.
- Connect a server you host elsewhere: Give a server at home or with another host a join address.
- Claim a free coritan.gg name: Keep a name for a website, mailboxes or a game server.
- Game server protection: Keep a game server reachable during an attack.
Connect a server you host elsewhere
Order an External Server plan, and give players a join address for your own Minecraft server.
Frequently asked questions
What does a join address cost?
A join address for a server hosted here costs nothing. A server you run elsewhere needs an External Server plan, which you pay for monthly or for a longer term.
Which games can use a join address?
Minecraft Java and Bedrock on any server, and any game that connects over TCP on a server hosted here. Games that use UDP, such as Rust and Valheim, need a floating IP instead.
Can I connect a server I run at home?
You can, for a Minecraft Java or Bedrock server. Order an External Server plan, and we give the server a join address.
Can I use my own domain?
You can link a domain you own to a join address, and players join at that name.
Does a join address stop DDoS attacks?
A join address hides your server’s address and protects it from floods of connections. To have DDoS Shield filter the server’s traffic, give the server a floating IP.
