Move your domain and DNS to Coritan
Host the DNS of a domain you own at Coritan, import its records from a zone file, and move its registration to us with the code from your registrar.
You can move the DNS, the registration or both, one at a time. The DNS can come first, with the domain staying registered where it is.
What you can move
- The DNS. Add the domain to your account, copy its records across, then set our nameservers at your registrar. The registration stays where it is. Add a domain you already own
- The records. If your current DNS provider can export a BIND zone file, import it into the new zone instead of typing each record. Import a zone file
- The registration. Move the domain to us with the EPP code your registrar gives you. The move adds a year, paid from your credit. Transfer a domain to Coritan
How to move the DNS
- Write down what the domain uses. Note its website address, its mail servers and any verification records before you change anything. Read the guide
- Add the domain and its records. Add the domain on Websites, then add its records or import them from a zone file. Read the guide
- Change the nameservers. At your registrar, replace the domain’s nameservers with ours. The domain answers from our DNS once the change spreads. Read the guide
What moves by hand
- Add the records before you change the nameservers, or the domain stops resolving until you do.
- Your site’s files and database move by hand. Deploy from git, or copy the files with a server import.
