What every server includes
Each Container Apps server comes with these, whatever its plan.
- Software installed for you. Choose from game servers such as Minecraft, Terraria and Valheim, databases such as MariaDB and PostgreSQL, and WordPress. Change to other software later on the Software tab.
- A console in your browser. Start, stop and restart the server, read its output as it runs and type commands, from any browser.
- Files and SFTP. Edit files in the dashboard’s file manager, or connect an SFTP app to copy whole folders and large files.
- Databases for your plugins. Create MariaDB databases on the Databases tab for the plugins and apps that store data. Each plan includes a set number of databases, and the Extra Database add-on adds one more.
- Snapshots. Take a snapshot, a full copy of the server’s files, before a big change, and restore it if something goes wrong. Schedules can take snapshots, run commands and restart the server at set times.
- Share the server. Give other people access to help run the server, with only the permissions you choose. Billing stays with you.

How it works
- Choose a plan and the software. Choose a plan here, then the software on the order page, or start from a snapshot of another server.
- We set it up. Once the first invoice is paid, we install the software. When the install finishes, you start the server from the dashboard.
- Run it from the dashboard. Open the console, change settings and invite the people who help you run it.
Add-ons
An add-on raises one limit of one server without a change of plan.

What can I run on Container Apps?
Game servers such as Minecraft, Terraria and Valheim, databases such as MariaDB and PostgreSQL, WordPress, and Node.js and Python apps. The order page lists all the software you can choose.
How is Container Apps different from Cloud Compute?
On Container Apps we install the software you choose, and you run it from the dashboard. Cloud Compute gives you a whole virtual machine with root access, where you install and look after everything yourself.
Can I pay by the hour?
You can, once you have added a set amount of credit in total. We take each hour’s price from your credit while the server runs, and a stopped server costs nothing. A server’s hourly charges stop for the month once they reach its monthly cap.
Are backups included?
You can take a snapshot at any time, and each server’s plan includes room to store snapshots. On Pro and up, we also take a snapshot every day and keep the newest 7. On Free, add automatic backups to a server as an add-on.
Is my server protected from DDoS attacks?
The shared address a server starts with is not filtered. Attach a floating IP, which DDoS Shield filters at no charge, or give players a join address, which keeps the server’s address hidden.
