### Object Storage is pay as you go

Object Storage now bills what you use: $0.0135 per GB-month of storage, $4.00 per million Class A operations and $0.32 per million Class B operations, with no charge for egress. Ordering costs nothing and needs no card, and we bill the use above your account's free amounts once a month, on the service's renewal invoice ([How Object Storage is billed](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/)).

- Each month your account uses 10 GB-month of storage at no charge, 250 on Pro and 1,024 on Business, with 1 million Class A and 10 million Class B operations on every plan. Every Object Storage service on the account shares them ([Free each month](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#free-each-month)).
- Your account plan's storage is now this free amount, in place of a service sized to the plan. A service that the dashboard created from your plan before is pay as you go too ([Storage from your account plan](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#the-storage-your-plan-includes)).
- We measure storage every hour and bill the average. We bill the exact use, with nothing rounded up to the next GB-month or the next million ([What a GB-month is](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#gb-month)). We started counting at the change, so pay as you go bills nothing from before it.
- Requests refused for their signature or permissions, throttled requests, requests that failed on our side and the dashboard's own listings do not count ([Which requests count](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#request-classes)).
- **Create Object Storage** opens the order page, which has one plan and a **Pricing** card with the rates and the free amounts. The dashboard no longer has a separate dialog for free storage ([Order Object Storage](/docs/object-storage/order-object-storage/)).

### Object Storage use, budgets and downloads

A service's **Overview** tab has a **This month** card, with each meter against what is free, **Estimated so far** and **Projected for the month**, and a **Requests** chart of each day's operations. On the **Billing** tab, a budget emails you at 50%, 80% and 100% of a monthly amount and never stops uploads, and **Download usage** saves a month's use by bucket and day as a CSV file ([The month so far](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#the-month-so-far), [Set a budget](/docs/object-storage/order-object-storage/#set-a-budget)).

`GET /api/v1/billing/object-storage/{service_id}` returns the month so far, and `GET /api/v1/client/object-storage/{service_id}/requests` the requests of each day ([With the API](/docs/object-storage/usage-and-billing/#with-the-api)).

### Fixed Object Storage plans are no longer sold

We no longer sell the Object Storage 250 GB, 1 TB and 5 TB plans, or the Extra Object Storage 250 GB add-on. A service on one of those plans keeps its price, its included storage and its rate above it, and is not charged for requests. **Switch to pay as you go** on its **Overview** or **Billing** tab moves it.
